GAIL GWINN’ April Show “There/Not There”

Looking closely at Gail Gwinn's work you realize how much detail there is in each black and white painting. People coming into the gallery keep exclaiming "Are those watercolors!? They look like photographs!" People can't believer their eyes. Each image is filled with intricate designs and textures that at first read as a photograph and upon further examination one realizes its more of a montage of dream like images that are traveling through the painting.

Gail's show, There/Not There is a body of work that has been very well received. Although the show will be ending April 26th, we will still have several up in the gallery. So, if you haven't had the opportunity to see her work, please stop by and take some time to see what she has created. They are truly unique and extremely interesting and very moving!

Gail is a printmaker but this body of work is all black and white watercolors. As a printmaker, she often starts with a collage inspiration and these watercolors feel collage-like as well.

Please visit Sue Frause's Blog in order to find out more about Gail's inspiration for these paintings.
