Artist’s Statement

A self-taught artist, I came to painting rather late in life after raising a family. What began as a hobby fast became a passion and to this day, I continue to learn every time I pick up a paint brush. I have been most fortunate to find opportunities, awards and collectors along the way for which I am truly grateful. 

My genre is oil and my subject is mainly still lifes painted in a rather Old-World style – sometimes with a modern twist. I enjoy putting different shapes, colors and textures of quiet simple things together and then working to bring it all to life on canvas. For me, there are few joys or challenges greater than this. 

I have a small studio in my home on Whidbey Island where I have lived for over 44 years. I am a member of Women Painters of Washington.
