Gail Gwinn

Artist’s Statement

May 2011 Show at Brackenwood Gallery “It’s All in the Fine Print”  Show.

Gail Gwinn is known for her intaglio prints.  For this exhibit, she has created a series of etchings incorporating flowers from the many botanical studies she has made over the years.  While the flowers are carefully rendered, their surroundings are mysterious and dreamlike.

April 2010 Show at Brackenwood Gallery featured Gail Gwinn.

“There/Not There” is solo watercolor show featuring a series of intricate black and white paintings. The exhibit will also include a few of Gail’s etchings and prints.

“Thoughts, memories, dreams, ghosts, time. All things that are there/not there. Things that affect me, and yet I can’t hold them or keep them.  So are they really there, these things?

This series examine a paradox: the presence of that which lies between what can be kept and what is lost.”  Gail Gwinn

Gail is an artist who pays great attention to detail. She combines textures and patterns to create paintings with a dreamlike essence.

A talented painter, print maker and etcher Gail’s expertise shines through in the quality she achieves in each piece. The combination of abstract and real draws one in to look closely at her work.
