Artist’s Statement

Cells: A Petite Tragedy

Cells: A Petite Tragedy is a study inspired by tension, and transitions, manifested in situations among life that is happening all around us on a microscopic level. These simplistic forms reference amoebas, and bacteria, while at the same time not loosing sight of human interaction and relationships.

I’ve used ancient Venetian glass blowing techniques such as cane, murinni work, and carving in a contemporary context to bridge the gap between conceptual art, and high craft.

Brackenwood Gallery is located in Langley Washington and features a variety of painters, sculptors, graphic artists, glass workers and other local artisans.
