Buffy Cribbs
Buffy is a multi-dimensional artist who has work in several artistic categories in the gallery. As an accomplished painter, print maker, woodworker and mixed media artist she spans a range few can claim. Below is “Stella to the Stars” an example of Buffy’s Reverse Painting on glass. Please look for the slideshow and bio on Buffy’s Painting page.

Buffy is also known for her imaginative prints. Buffy’s work often has a story behind it or something that inspired her when she was in the creative process.
Here is an example of just such a story. We recently sold one of Buffy’s prints called “Pat O’ Donnel”. The client asked why the print was called this and Buffy wrote this little paragraph about the origin of the print.
“Before Briony, our daughter was born, Bruce and I went to Ireland to build a house for Mom. She had a business called ‘Annie’s Out to Lunch” at the time and we spent our evenings in Sligo eating and drinking in Pubs.
One night we met Victor and Earnesto who were Chilean Merchant Sea men on the run from Pinochet’s hatchet men. They were working on a Polish Coal boat that came into Sligo fortnightly. I think I had had a few pints by the time I was entertaining Victor with my Donald Duck imitation, and he kept saying “Patto Donal” Which, it turns out, is Spanish for Donald Duck. When I made that print, which is based on an African Textile design, the Orange bits reminded me of quacking ducks. Hence the title “Pat O’ Donnel”
