EARL OLSEN — PHOTOGRAPHY
An exhibit of Earl Olsen’s Photography will open at Brackenwood Gallery on Feb. 4, 2012. This show’s main focus is flora, both domestic and wild. Earl captures natural images that are often otherworldly. As a lifelong artistic photographer, Earl has a painterly eye. Using nature as a palate, the camera his paintbrush, a field of yellow daisies is suddenly transformed into an image that seems more like an abstract “painting” than a photograph. Earl’s images capture your imagination and transport you to familiar places while introducing you to new dimensions of the natural world you may not have noticed before.
As Earl says, “My eye tends to go to the detail, looking for that something special in the familiar that surrounds us everyday. What I enjoy most is that photography allows me to combine my artistic and technical skills to create an image of how I see some small part of our world — and to share it with others.”
What a delight it will be to see the colors of spring and summer in the depths of winter! Please join us at Brackenwood Gallery for the artist’s reception Feb. 4 from 5-7 PM. The show continues thru the 27th of February.
